  • Application Dates: August 5-16, 2024
  • Evaluation Dates: August 19-23, 2024

Registrations will be conducted in person at the Piri Reis University Deniz Campus Student Affairs Office.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS FOR REGISTRATION

INSTITUTIONAL LATERAL TRANSFER FINAL REGISTRATION

Students who have applied for institutional lateral transfer must visit the Student Affairs Office to complete the disassociation process from their current program and register for the newly accepted program.

Inter-Institutional Lateral Transfer Final Registration Documents:

  • Copy of National ID Card
  • Two (2) passport-size photographs
  • ÖSYS/YKS/DGS Exam Result and Placement Certificate (according to the exam type through which the student was admitted to their current university)
    • Students applying for a different department than their current one must provide their LYS exam result certificate.
  • Student Certificate (must be recent and approved)
  • Transcript (Two recent and approved copies) (Not required for preparatory class students)
  • Course Descriptions (Not required for preparatory class students)
  • Document proving no disciplinary action (must be signed and stamped)
  • Document confirming that the student has not previously transferred under Additional Article-1
  • Document stating that there is no obstacle to lateral transfer (This is an important document and must be presented during registration.)
  • Students applying for programs with a mandatory English preparatory requirement must take the English Proficiency Exam after completing their lateral transfer registration.

 

“FIT FOR SEAFARER” HEALTH REPORT

  • Students of the Faculty of Maritime (Maritime Transportation Management Engineering and Marine Engineering), and the Maritime Vocational School (Maritime Transportation Management, Marine Engineering Operations, Mechatronics, Maritime and Port Management, Marina and Yacht Management) must obtain a medical report with the statement “FIT FOR SEAFARER.”
  • This report must be issued by authorized public or private healthcare institutions according to the Maritime Health Regulations.
  • After obtaining the hospital report, students must have it approved by the General Directorate of Border and Coastal Health, and submit one photocopy of the issued Seafarer Health Examination Certificate to the Student Affairs Office during registration.

Professional Diver Health Report

  • Students enrolling in the Underwater Technologies Program at the Maritime Vocational School must submit one photocopy of a health report stating “FIT FOR PROFESSIONAL DIVER” during registration.

 

English Proficiency Exam

  • Students transferring between faculties and departments within Piri Reis University are exempt from the English proficiency requirement if they have successfully completed the preparatory class with a minimum score of 60.
  • Students transferring from outside Piri Reis University will be processed according to the English Preparatory Class Education and Exam Regulations.
  • National and international language proficiency certificates that meet exemption criteria will be evaluated by the Preparatory School Directorate.

 

Lateral Transfer Scholarship/Discount Conditions

  • Lateral transfer scholarships/discounts apply only to annual re-registrations; they are not applicable during extension periods or per-credit tuition payments.
  • The duration of student status is calculated based on the class placement after the lateral transfer.
  • Periods of study before the lateral transfer (excluding preparatory years) are deducted from the total scholarship period.
  • Scholarship/discount rates may be reviewed each year. For information on tuition fees, students can contact the Financial Affairs Office.

 

Required Documents for International Students Admitted via Inter-Institutional Lateral Transfer to Undergraduate/Associate Degree Programs

(As per regulations, applications for the Spring semester are only accepted for the Maritime Vocational School.)

  • Passport pages showing study period abroad
  • Copy of National ID Card
  • Two (2) passport-size photographs
  • ÖSYS/YKS/LYS Exam Result Certificate or equivalent recognized documents
  • Certified Turkish translation of Student Certificate (must be recent and approved)
  • Certified Turkish translation of Transcript (Two copies)
  • Certified Turkish translation of Course Descriptions
  • Certified Turkish translation of Document Proving No Disciplinary Action
  • Recent Equivalency Certificate from the Council of Higher Education (YÖK)
  • Document proving no disciplinary action (must be signed and stamped)
  • Document stating that there is no obstacle to lateral transfer

Border Entry-Exit Certificate (must be obtained from the General Directorate of Security)
