The Piri Reis University 2024-2025 Academic Year Opening Ceremony was held on Monday, September 30, 2024, at the Rıdvan Kartal Conference Hall on the Tuzla Sea Campus.

The ceremony was attended by Osman Boyraz, Deputy Minister of Transport and Infrastructure (UAB), Ümit Hüseyin Güney, District Governor of Tuzla, Eren Ali Bingöl, Mayor of Tuzla, M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, President of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB), along with TOBB Board Members, Rear Admiral Ramazan Özoğul, Commander of the National Defense University (MSÜ) Naval Academy, Başaran Bayrak, Chairman of the Assembly of the Chamber of Shipping (İMEAK DTO), along with Board Members, Branch Presidents, and Assembly Members, Members of the Piri Reis University Board of Trustees, Representatives from the maritime industry, academics, students, and invited guests.

During the academic opening ceremony, Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, President of TOBB, delivered a speech, wishing students success in the new academic year.
